Navigating treacherous waters: Clinical strategies to address predictors of attenuated outcome in pediatric OCD treatment

Designed for intermediate-level practitioners, this live, interactive program will focus on recent empirical findings in the treatment of OCD in children and adolescents, and clinical application of these empirically supported methods. Dr. Franklin will set the stage by providing a summary of key randomized trials that have established the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), both alone and in combination with concomitant serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRIs). Then, he will present on negative predictors of outcome to these treatments, including low motivation for change, unusual obs...Read moreessional content, rates and potential influence of psychiatric comorbidity, and family accommodation. The remainder of the lecture will offer clinical strategies to address each of these predictors in turn. At the end of the presentation there will be a moderated Q&A session to address audience questions. Note: This webinar is based on presentations given by Dr. Franklin at an in-person continuing education seminar held in Los Angeles (April 26, 2024).
