Navigating religious scrupulosity

This live, interactive webinar will provide an overview of the body of literature relevant to assessing, conceptualizing, and treating scrupulosity. While many doctoral programs in psychology provide a foundation of knowledge on OCD and some understanding of the effectiveness of exposure and response prevention (ERP), OCD is varied in its presentation, and different symptom dimensions often require different considerations for treatment. This presentation will build upon clinicians' foundation of knowledge on OCD to provide insights into assessing and effectively treating scrupulosity, incorporating peer-reviewed findings, validated measures, and empirically supported therapeutic approaches. Considerations of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds will be included throughout the presentation. In addition, case examples will incorporate nuances involved in adjusting one's approach to ERP when treating scrupulosity while respecting the client's religious and cultural beliefs.
